Welcome to 2019!

Hello DCNOMA!

INTRODUCTION

Towards the end of 2018, DCNOMA held two Chapter Meetings to discuss how to move the Chapter forward. The energy at each meeting was palpable and I believe DCNOMA looks toward a fresh start in 2019. To make this happen, we need YOU! Consider this your Call-to-Action! We need each and every member to step up and get involved! Whether you commit yourself to attending every Chapter Meeting or you join a committee, we are relying on everyone to take part in growing and strengthening the Chapter. The success of DCNOMA cannot rest on the shoulders of one person, but on all of us.

LEADERSHIP

In January, we elected a new Board of Directors for 2019! Each person brings a set of unique talents to DCNOMA and the group looks forward to serving you! Congratulations to our new Board!

GOALS

DCNOMA intends to focus on the following goals over the next year. As the Chapter evolves over the year, we recognize that these goals can evolve as well. For now, we plan to focus on the following, using NOMA National’s President, Kimberly Dowdell’s ALL in for NOMA as a a framework.

  1. Licensure (Access) - DCNOMA will support all eligible members on their path towards licensure, through a study material library, study groups, and mentorship.

  2. Social Action and Outreach (Leadership) - DCNOMA will continue to support Project Pipeline and East of the River, while seeking out opportunities for our members to give back to our community.

  3. Mentorship (Legacy) - DCNOMA will develop a mentorship program to connect members. While this might seem like a simple goal, we want to use it as a platform to grow the Chapter and strengthen the talents of our members.
